Contemporary Gardens
Contemporary or modern gardens are inorganic in nature with hard geometrical shapes and lines. They are meant to divert all the attention to the garden itself. These gardens typically use natural construction materials placed or finished in an inorganic fashion with a bright focal points to grab the attention of the visitor.
Design Styles:
These gardens are typically designed with the Chinese philosophy of Feng Shui. This philosophy is a system of laws considered to govern spatial arrangement and orientation in relation to the natural environment. In short, garden elements represent one or more of natural elements including Earth, Water, and Fire.

At e-landscape designers, we encourage our clients to look at this type of landscape style. Styles and trends come and go; we think that this classic style has always stood the test of time. You can find examples in Europe today that are still standing! These designs include strong linear spaces with focal points, plant hedges, fountains, benches, and potted plants.
Southwest Gardens
Usually found in the Southwest part of the country but can work anywhere throughout the United States. Due to the harsh environments of this part of the country, Southwest designs consist of rock gardens, gravel sidewalks, small foliage plants and flowers, stucco finished walls, cacti family plants, rustic looking site accessories and go great with a fountains or pools with light blue accents.
Mediterranean Gardens
Inspired by tropical regions adjacent to the Mediterranean Sea, including Italy, Greece, or in some areas of Spain. These gardens are lush in plants and flowers that include tall shrubbery and shade trees. Inviting vistas that encourage a visitor to explore different areas of the garden are common with this design. Natural stone walkways, terra cotta potted plants, and permanent hardscape elements can be found throughout this styled garden.
Tropical Gardens
These landscape design styles are found in the tropical regions of the world. These designs consist of palms, bamboos, and large foliage plants with bright flowers. Many different accessories, amenities, furniture, and construction finishes help pull a tropical design together. Unfortunately, our designers can design tropical plants in regions that are susceptible to cold climates.
Informal Gardens
Informal Garden design styles are found everywhere in the world. These types of gardens are very organic in design with curvilinear walks, plants arrangements, plant bed lines, and other garden amenities throughout these gardens. The style is very loose and the flexibility of placing design elements make this a popular design style. They go well with any architectural styled home.
